The search is carried out by one or more patent analysts, specialized in that technical field. Prior to the search, a patent analyst will contact you to confirm the scope of the search, the cost and the delivery. Using our advanced search tool, we can access all major patent databases.
Novelty Search
Making the right decisions is easier if you understand the novelty of your invention. Nextlex team has many years of experience searching patent documentation. We offer searches carried out by patent analysts in most technical fields, using international patent databases. Our experts also have access to collection of older patent documents, as well as a large number of scientific and technical publications. All this constitutes a source of knowledge and information that is hard to match. The search is based on your description of a well-defined invention, or of an independent patent claim. The aim with the search is to find hindrance questioning the novelty or the invented step, as found in the described invention. The search will come to an end when the aim is fulfilled or when it is not considered possible to find such hindrance.
Novelty Search With Preliminary Patentability Report
This service is designed for anyone who needs a thorough novelty search of an invention. The same search methods and tools used for patent applications are used for this search. The references found are presented in a detailed report, explaining how they relate to the search request and pointing out possible differences. We dont give a preliminary opinion regarding patentability.
Preliminary Patentability Report

Validity Search
Granted on what basis searches – Sometimes a supplementary search, of an application that has already been examined or a patent that has already been granted, is necessary. The aim is to check on what basis a patent was granted. A validity search focuses on patent documentation published before the priority date of the document in question. Please note that the validity of a patent is not up for discussion within this search, nor is the patent practice of another country considered.
